Shown above is one of my favorites, fresh mozzarella, not to be confused with the waxier pizza-topping version more common in the U.S. Fresh mozzarella tastes like an amped up version of cold, fresh milk. One of my favorite lunches is tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and whatever herbs strike my fancy (especially fresh basil). Here is one I had at Fratello's:
