Usually, a picture like this would be of something I ate. But last Tuesday, it was part of the challenge of being a Temporary Vegetarian.
At an industry dinner at Tamarine in Palo Alto, these gorgeous lamb chops (and a panko-fried trout and Shaking Beef) went untouched. I had the sweet potato fries, curried long beans, and a fantastic apple-jicama salad. I had the soup portion of the Ha-Long Bay Soup (coconut-coriander consommé but not the crab wontons. I had the banh mi roti appetizer, a pan fried bread with red panang curry sauce.
That doesn't sound like deprivation, does it? I was tempted, but not by much.
I need to go back to Tamarine next month.
